Was Forrest's Mom Right?

Isaiah 43:1-3a

Today we begin the final section of the Old Testament...the Prophets. The heart of their message was "Shape up or ship out." And there are also many other great lessons for us today. Let's look at one from Isaiah.

1. The Problems          When (not if) you pass through.

            The water           job, health, financial death.

            The rivers          sorrow, grief, challenges we can't

            The fire              getting burnt.

2. The Promises

            "I will be with you."     Deut. 3:16  (Stay close to God's fire)

            "They will not sweep over you."     1 Kings 8:56

            "You will not be burned."     The flames of life will not set you ablaze!

3. The Conclusion

            We really don't know what's coming.

            This world is not our home.
