The Prophet and the Prostitute

Introduction: God commanded Hosea to enter into one of the most controversial marriages in the Old Testament as an illustration of His desire to see Israel return to loving Him. Hosea gave the people two commands to follow... and they still apply!

1. The first requirement: RETURN to the LORD.

          Hosea allowed his wife to come home.

               Conduct required / condoned death of both parties.

          God is waiting for some of us to return.

2. The second requirement: ACKNOWLEDGE the LORD.

          Live with a changed heart.

          Live with changed priorites.

Action Steps:

          Return: Come home!

          Repent: Come clean!
